Once again, Celtics: you know how to play defense, so DO IT.
Yet another game 7... |

Gotta bitch about the Celtics if they want to win this series. I'll keep it short and sweet:
PLAY SOME FUCKING DEFENSE. IF YOU SEE JOHN SALMONS OR BEN GORDON BEHIND THE ARC, YOU STAY ATTACHED TO THEM LIKE YOU WANT TO SUCK THEIR COCKS OFF.
That is all. Go C's. |

Advance notice to anyone a.) in the greater New England area, b.) with the means to come to Worcester, c.) with the desire to do so for d.) the opportunity to see me and some dudes play Rock Band, but with real instruments and no TV. What's that called again? Something...oh well, if it was important I'd know.
Anyway, some time in late April (21st-ish, maybe?), said dudes and I will be playing at our CS department's Coffee House event. Not sure how many songs they'll let us play, but I'm guessing somewhere around 4 or 5. Two of them will have been written by me, the rest will be covers (a relatively eclectic mix, I think, but too early to tell). The two that I've written / am writing epitomize nerdery in terms of lyrics but rock hard musically, or so I believe. In any event, come if you want proof that my drum skills translate from Children's Sketchbook to non-Drummania. More details when I know them. |

| A quantum of something else |
[Nov. 15th, 2008|02:25 am] |
Even though this weekend is pretty much officially "Bond weekend," and even though I will be seeing it this weekend, I'd like to take this time to make a supplemental filmic recommendation.
If you are able (i.e. if it's playing near you, and for Boston / Cambridge-types, it is), go see "Let the Right One In." Phenomenal pretty much sums it up, but there is no shortage of rich adjectives in the English language with which the film can be described. I've come to realize that I don't really like writing full reviews of movies, but it suffices to say that I am a massive fan of this film.
For those of you who've followed my track record when it comes to recommending movies via Livejournal (perfect), this should be a no-brainer. For those who haven't, no time like the present to start!

Warning: this film will make you wish you knew more vampires. |

It's hardly fathomable that a game could take place that one would say makes the Mother's Day Miracle look like a piece of crap, but sure enough, here we are.
And I was there. WOO. |

| Inanimate enemies |
[Jun. 26th, 2008|03:33 pm] |
Today at work I bought a Diet Coke from the vending machine. When the can dropped, I guess it caught something on the way down and it reached the bottom with a small puncture in the side of the can. This resulted in a steady, violent stream of pressurized soda (since it was diet, there was no stickiness, which was nice, but still) spewing all over the place. Without any thought whatsoever, I reactively said aloud, "Ah damnit! You've made a powerful enemy, Coke machine."
The fellow sitting in the adjacent room was probably more than a bit confused. |

I've noticed that in order for Boston area sports teams to win championships, I must make a post at some point during the postseason (appropriately enough) bitching about some aspect of their play. Kick ass. |

I think my friend Suvesh said it best about last night's game with just one word:
"Legendary."
Hot fucking shit. |

I am...disappointed with the Celtics. Very, VERY disappointed. Let's hope the home domination continues... |

I've privatized the last three entries, and for good reason. I think originally I wanted some sort of perspective, and I appreciate it, really I do. But I don't know that it will be beneficial in the long run. I dunno, I think what I need now is clarity, and I don't know how to get it. This might be a good start. Either way, I want to change the tone of events somewhat, so here's a picture of The Riddler I put in a presentation I gave today.

A final note: I know people make mistakes. I don't know that all can be forgiven. But if you know what happened, please don't harbor ill-will. That's my cross to bear, and I'll do it if necessary. |
